About Our Farm

Grass Roots Grow is a no-till mixed light cannabis farm located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, just outside of Grass Valley, California.  We currently cultivate 10,000 sq ft of  high quality flower through sustainable and regenerative practices. Our farming practices are focused on building soil microbiology, diversity  and fertility through cover crops, compost teas,  beneficial insects and organic inputs. 

Our farm is owned and operated by Brendan Mainville and Molly Flick . After a brief time growing in various parts of northern California, our 7 year adventure began in northern Humboldt. We landed on 290 acres of completely raw, off-the-grid land and built our farm and  homestead. Living hours from town, we learned to be self-sufficient, problem solve and make the most of the resources we had.   Humboldt was a wild and humbling chapter of our journey. In 2020, we bought our property in Grass Valley, CA. We moved, along with all our of dogs, cats, chickens and ducks and built our farm here. We are so grateful to now call this place our home.
